Spaghetti and Meatballs...

Tonight Brian and I went to a Boy Scouts fundraising dinner and had a delicious meal! We ate garlic bread, spaghetti and meatballs, salad... AND we splurged and had cheesecake with blueberries on top. WOW, what yummy food! Those boy scouts (and their moms, haha) can sure cook.

We had to give credit to the scouts... they waited on our table and were always making sure we had plenty to eat and that our dishes were cleared away promptly after we finished. The ambiance was nice, too. Candles, music... everything was very well put together.

There was a raffle and I (Sara) won a prize! I couldn't believe it. What crazy luck! It was definitely a good time and we were so glad to get out and help support the boy scouts (and have a yummy dinner together, too!).

Spring Break!

Last March, I got to take Spring Break off from work (one of the perks for working for the school district!) and Brian was able to take a few days off from work so that we could spend some time together. We hiked section 16 on the first day we had... and we also just spent a lot of time chillin' and relaxing together. We got to go to Manitou (one of our favorite places) and play in the arcades one day.

Our "big trip" was to Breckenridge and Frisco, Colorado. We took a day trip up to Frisco and went snowshoeing up to Lake Dillon which was completely frozen over and absolutely gorgeous. The weather that day was fabulous! It was snowing on and off while we snowshoed through the pine trees, but it was still pretty sunny outside (sometimes when the sun would peek through the clouds!). We warmed up quickly; snowshoeing is a great workout!

After we did a big loop and were pretty tired from playing in the snow, we continued on to Breckenridge and toured the shops there. We loved the atmosphere there! There were so many fun shops to walk through... our favorite was the toy store! We actually found one of the most impressive, fun, unique toystores we have ever been inside of! And to think - of all places it would be... in the small town of Breckenridge!

After months of searching for a "water rocket" to no avail (you know, the kind that you fill up with water and then pump up with air, release, and watch fly into the air)... we actually found one such toy at that toy store in Breckenridge. Of course, it was a no brainer. Brian put down the marshmallow shooter and decided he would rather have the rocket (as would I).

After our incredible rocket find, we decided we were hungry and so we found a pretty good little restaurant and ate some lunch. It was a small restaurant with a sort of eclectic feel to it. There were so many eateries there, we are looking forward to going back so we can try another one!

We drove home that day, bellies full and feeling satisfied after snowshoeing... fighting over who would get to launch the rocket first. :)
